Mexican spirits are treasured around the world for their unique flavors. All tequila is made from the blue agave plant found near the city of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Some consider tequila to be one of the truest forms of alcohol.
The city of Oaxaca is world renowned for its production of Mezcal. The maguey plants used to create Mezcal must be mature – between seven to fifteen years old. The mature plant forms a “pina” or heart at the center from which the juice is extracted to create Mezcal.
